Tim Yordy, Worship Director
Tim Yordy joined the St. John’s family in 2021. He is a Christian singer, songwriter, and musician who plays the acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, and keyboard. Over the past 20 years, he has played in three bands and has written over 60 songs, some of which have been played on WJTL 90.3 FM Christian radio.
As Worship Director, Tim provides leadership and vision for all musical worship at St. John’s, including (1) leading, developing, supporting, and growing our talented group of volunteer singers and musicians, (2) leading, coordinating, scheduling, and supporting live musical worship each week, and (3) exploring new avenues and opportunities for live musical worship.
Outside of his work with the church, Tim is an account manager for a large commercial cleaning products producer. His work in this field takes him to locations throughout Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia. Prior to this career, he spent 14 years in various retail management positions for several office supply retailers and a national pet store chain.
Before coming to St John’s, Tim was the worship leader at Central PA Cowboy Church of the Nazarene. He received his musical education from Visible Music College in Memphis, TN in 2001-2002. After completion of his education, he was involved in the worship team at Palmyra Grace Brethren Church and was instrumental in developing the youth praise team. From 2004-2006, Tim was the lead singer and guitarist of a local Christian rock band that played shows all over central PA in churches, coffee shops, and other venues.
Tim put his faith in Christ as a child while at home. He lives in Bellegrove with his wife, Alex, and two children, John and Evie. Tim loves music, gardening, board games, but not the Dallas Cowboys. (Sorry, Pastor Jeff!)
