Dave Berger

Dave Berger, Director of New Hope Christian Counseling

Dave is a member of the First Evangelical Congregational Church in Palmyra, PA, where he has served in a variety of positions including Sunday school teacher, Steward Board chairman, and Youth Group leader.

He co-founded and directed the Outreach Ministry Center at Armstrong Valley Bible Baptist Church (AVBBC) in Halifax, PA, where he served for 18 years. This all-volunteer ministry offered Lay Christian Counseling services, DivorceCare training, behavioral assessments, referral services, CPR certification, food and clothing items, and a Christian resource library. Dave has ministered to the spiritual and emotional needs of hundreds of people during his time at AVBBC.

Dave is currently employed full-time at Capital BlueCross as a Sr. Talent Management and Leadership Development Consultant. He has over 30 years of experience in Training and Development. Over those years, he has worked for a variety of organizations including: Friendly’s Restaurants, Lancaster County Drug & Alcohol, Philhaven Hospital, Edgewater Psychiatric Center, Hershey Entertainment & Resort Company, and Highmark Blue Cross & Blue Shield.

He is a keynote speaker and workshop presenter, and he has consulted with a variety of organizations throughout the United States. He has designed and presented numerous business-related continuing education courses at Harrisburg Area Community College, Lebanon Campus, and has developed and instructed contract training programs with local industries.

Dave holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Sociology from Millersville University and a Master of Education degree in Training and Development from the Pennsylvania State University. In addition, he is certified in over ten different assessment tools. David is a member of the Association for Talent and Development, the American Association of Christian Counselors, and the International Christian Coaches Association.

He lives in Palmyra with his wife Connie and has two grown children and one grandchild.
